Today is...

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

I have already gave my dad a present. Actually this present is simple yet it can be useful. =) I bought the wallet as a present for my dad from Bintan Island. I hope he will treasure it what I gave him today. May Allah bless him.

Okay!! Let's continue to blog about Day Three. What are you waiting for? Let's go... =)

DAY THREE (15 JUNE 2009)

Again, a good night's sleep allowed all of us to wake up rather naturally before the stipulated time. I took a deep breathe and said quietly " What a nice and long sleep! ". We packed some important basic things for trekking at Mount Gunung Bintan and CIP (Community Involvement Programme) at Muslim orphanage.

After we settled down, we had breakfast. The Indonesian's food was nice, so nice, very nice. SUPER NICE and DELICIOUS too. That's why our Group D created the cheers by saying " D...D...D...D...DELICIOUS!!! ". Lol... xD The Indonesian's food is fried rice with egg. I ate two times but I still did not feel full. = =" *Burp*

When we finished our breakfast, we have to relieve ourselves as there is no modern toilet in the tropical forest or otherwise you have to find the place secretly in forest to relieve yourself. After that , we got ready for trekking at Mount Gunung Bintan. I was so excited as I love trekking very much. We boarded the bus and set off to Mount Gunung Bintan.

We reached there finally and got some warm-up exercises to prevent from injury or else. Then we were READY!! The sequence was C, D, B and finally A. " READY, SET, GOOOO!!! " We started to trek following by C then D then B and finally A. We were guided by experienced and expert instructor (LifeSmith).

At first, the gradient of the slope was gentle so it was easy to trek through the forest. But after few metres ahead, the gradient of the slope started to increase. It was arduous task that we needed more energy to take big step through the forest. My leg muscles started to stretch hard that I feel like I want to give up but I told myself not to do so. As the slope became steep, we needed ropes for assistance along the forest.

My body started to sweat that my T-Shirt drenched. xD After about 2 hours later, we reached the top of Mount Gunung Bintan. We had achieved for reaching 371 m high of Mount Gunung Bintan. Hooray!!

We took many photos at the top of the mountain as a memories. After few minutes later, we again went down to the foot of the mountain. While we went down, there were a lot of slippery onto the big boulders. We took an extra precautions when we stepped down. Frankly speaking, it was more tougher and challenger too than where we went up to the top of mountain as there were a lot of obstacles ahead. But I like it as I love challenge. =) I was almost fell off the mountain and got slipped many times due to slippery. Thanks God for saving me.

After about 2 hours later, we have reached the foot of the mountain safe and sound. We got a beautiful, very beautiful reward. Guess?? WATERFALL!! =D We took many photos too. We had made achievement for reaching top and foot of the mountain. We had done our very BEST!! Well done! *clap* =)

When we finished of taking photos and changed our new clothes, we got lunch. Erm... The Indonesian's food was quite okay. After we finished our lunch, we got ready for Muslim orphanage to lend our hands. =)

We were brought to there by bus. It took about 45 minutes. We reached there finally. I saw all the young orphans were waiting for us. I was very touched and felt blessed too. =)

After we settled down and dispersed to different class. Our Group D went to "nursery" class. All children were damn cute. =D We taught them a basic sign language like from A to Z. I was very surprised that they learnt very fast. After half hour later, some guys played soccer while some girls were watching them playing soccer.

I did not believe my own eyes as some Indonesian boys did well in playing soccer. I hope they will achieve their dreams. After few minutes later, the unwelcome rain started to drizzle. So we ran back to orphanage.

Before we went back to Agro campsite, some of COR members expressed their warmly feelings to all people in orphanage. I prayed for their good health and have good life when they leave from orphanage. My eyes started to well. I don't know how to explain my feeling to you as the word cannot be describe. =)

After we reached campsite, we were told to sleep for one night in hotel/resort. We were very excited as there was beautiful bed, nice shower and many more. We really cannot wait to have a cool and nice shower. Lol... =D

When we finished our shower, we went to restaurant for buffet dinner. Erm... I bet you that you want to know how our buffet dinner. Am I right? =D The Indonesian's sumptuous dinner was DAMN DELICIOUS!!! Thanks to COR for giving this special dinner. I'm really appreciated it. =))

After we finished our dinner, we went to air-con hall for appreciation night. During appreciation night, NTU gave signing song perforamce. It was nice and wonderful performance. Keep it up!! =)) The HI participants gave performances : simple hip-hop dance and action-like COR/instructor. The most funny part that filled the whole hall into hilarious laughters was especially Wei Ling actually acted like Chew Ming Ying (CMY) when she showed the sign that CMY always showed. CMY looked like Wei Ling. Really... COR members said that too. It was really wonderful and memorable event.

After that, LifeSmith gave a surprise by having fireworks. Also it's for Jay Lee's and Aloysius's birthday. =)) Then we went back to resort to have nice sleep.

Before I went to sleep, Nabliah and I went out of our rooms, had a chat and looked at the beautiful starry night sky. =))

The Indonesian villagers were curiosity why we were at Mount Gunung Bintan. =)

This photo taken by NAYR =D Nice shot, isn't it?
(I really tempted to buy "fish eye" camera.)

Group " D...D...D...D...DELICIOUS " xD

Set off to the top of Mount Gunung Bintan =D

Huh? Other clone of Sir Stamford of Raffles in Bintan? xD

Hooray!! We made it! =))

Other clone of Sir Stamford of Raffles in Bintan too?? @.@
(I really happy that I made it to reach 371 m high of Mount Gunung Bintan)

Hooray!! We had made it! xD

(I like it very much)

Our reward.... WATERFALL!!!

I am back right now to continue to blog about Day Two. Are you ready? Let's go....

DAY TWO (14 June 2009)

A good night's sleep allowed all of us to wake up rather naturally before the stipulated time. I decided to seize an golden opportunity after saw the sunrise by taking a beautiful and best shot. I was mesmerised as the sun was rising slowly. I was rarely to see the sunrise in Singapore. =(

After taking photo of sunrise, we packed up our tents and stuffs and had a breakfast. I bet that you want to know how was my breakfast. Right?? Erm... Actually, it was bread with cheese and other with sardine. These Indonesia's food for our breakfast was damn delicious. I ate some of them. It was really melted warmly in my mouth. *Burp*

When we finished our breakfast, we were headed back to Agro Campsite by bus. It took for about 1/2 hour. We reached there finally.

After we settled down, we wore a life-jacket to get ready for mangrove reforestation as if we were warriors to save the earth and villagers too. Am I right? Lol... xD

Before we started doing mangrove reforestation, we were given a short briefing on how mangrove can benefit the earth, marine creatures and human being like us and the fact of mangrove. I admitted that her lecture made us feel sleepy but her lecture was quite interesting. =X

We heaved a sigh of relief after she finished her lecture. So we got ready to plant young mangroves and were supposed
to plant them in straight, neat rows, with sufficient spacing in between them, but somehow, it doesn't turn out that way.

I prayed that all young mangroves that we planted will grow taller, healthy and stronger. I cannot imagine what young mangroves that we planted look like in 3 years' time. I really hope that COR will have a chance to go back in 2012 to see the mangroves. Some of my feeling that cannot be described. I don't know why... We are really proud that we have done our part to conserve them. It was really meaningful for us. Really... =) That's why I took some photos of young mangroves that we planted as a memories.

After we did mangrove reforestation, we went back to the tents and changed our new clothes. We had a lunch and then we got ready for coconut tree climbling. However, the coconut tree climbing had been postponed to Day Four due to unwelcome rain. Sigh... What a disappointment! But one of COR'09 members did not dampen our spirits by having simple yet fun games. The funny part during games was the 3 C-CUPians (Group C) did their infamous C-Cup action, bringing the whole hall into hilarious laughters. Lol... xD

After we played some simple games, we did split into 2 groups (HI and NTU) and discussed what we should put up performance for Appreciation Night.

After that, we had dinner. I think I should rate it 4 stars out of 5 as it was damn delicious. When we finished our dinner, we played game called Survival Hunt in pitch dark that we have to find clues and solve mystery. While our Group D waited for our turn, Jay Lee (LifeSmith instructor) told his terrible experiences of encountering g****. Actually, it sounded scary to me that I have to clinch Aloysius's arm. Lol... xD

When it was time for our turn for survival hunt, we did rush to solve the mystery. Actually, It was so easy to find clue that needed to head some of places.

After we finished our survival hunt, we took a nice shower. Then we went back to meeting place for briefing for Day 3 regarding safety of Mount Gunung Bintan and CIP at Muslim orphanage.

I really cannot wait for Day 3 as I love trekking at Mt Gunung Bintan. That's why I love adventure. =)

After that, we went back to tents to sleep. Again, I saw many beautiful stars in starry night sky and admired at them before I went to sleep. *zZzZz*

Lovely view of sunrise =)

Mesmerising at the sunrise =)

D...D...D...D...DELICIOUS!! xD

Young mangrove plants

Happily proud that I planted it. =))

Thanks Qian Hao for helping me to dig.. Lol xD

This is my doing of planting a young mangrove plant.. =))

Suppose to plant in neat rows but did not turn out that way.. = ="

That's all for Day Two... Don't forget to stay tuned for Day Three. Till then... Enjoys! =)

I am back to update my blog regarding what I did while I was in Indonesia. Want to know about this?? @.@ I bet that you are eager to listen my story. Am I right? =) Now I am going to share with you my memorable experience...

DAY ONE (13 June 2009)

I have to wake up early to gather with COR'09 members at Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, Singapore at 0700 (Singapore time). I was told to join Group D and introduced with each other. After a while, COR'09 members including myself set off to Bintan Island, Indonesia. The ferry took us there for about 1 hour.

I just received an sms message. Oh shit! It was from Indonesia services such as Telkomsel, Indosat and XL (weird name, isn't it?) and M1 service.

After we reached Bintan Island checkpoint at 0830 (Indonesia time, which is 1 hour behind Singapore time), we set off to Agro Beach Resort (Agro Campsite) in Bintan by bus. It took for about 1 1/2 hours. It was a such long journey that made us sleepy. After a few moment later, we have been reached there finally.

After we settled down, we played some team-bonding games that helped to bond our friendship and had a lunch. I bet you that you wanted to know how was my lunch. Am I right? Erm... It's was my first time to eat Indonesia food in my entire life. I did not mean to offend or insult to Indonesia's stuffs. The Indonesia food was quite okay especially with spicy.

After we ate lunch, we were given briefing regarding safety for snorkeling. Before we went for snorkeling in such big sea, we practised thoroughly on how to breathe properly and many more in swimming pool. Actually, it was most difficult task because sometimes after we submerged with "complicated goggles", some of water goes to my mouth, eyes and noses. I felt like I want to give up but my heart and mind told me not to give up so easily.

We were told to do snorkeling at White Sand Island opposite Bintan Island. My heart started to beat wildly as I was so worried that something happened to me. However, I dismissed this negative thought. We were taken there by speedboat that took for about 15 mintues. It was so cool to ride with speedboat. =)

After we reached at White Sand Island, I could not believe in my very own eyes and I was so mesmerised looking around the island. Do you know what? The sand was so "pure" and sandy. The seawater was so clear/transparent and clean that you could able to see through unlike in Singapore. I was so speechless. I am really thankful to Allah for creating such a beautiful and fansantic landscapes and creations. Allah Akbar (Allah is the Greatest)!

We were given a chance to snorkeling just outside the White Sand Island. I really can't wait for turn for snorkeling. It was my first time to do snorkeling. In order not to waste any precious time, we were given a chance to taste the Indonesian's life of sampan. Actually, I had terrible experience in difficulty in rowing the sampan. Luckily, I was guided how to row properly but I still did not know how to as it is the most difficult task.

After a few moment later, I saw instructors discussing and I sensed that our turn for snorkeling was about to cancel but Jay Lee (LifeSmith instructor) did not want to disappoint us. So he asked me and other groups to follow him through the sea. I submerged myself to see the marine creatures.

Frankly speaking, marine creatures are fadely destroyed (not totally) due to global warming. So everyone on this earth should lend their hands to conserve the marine life.

After we did snorkeling, we went back to Bintan Island but different location to camp out there for one night.

Meanwhile, we did our outdoor cooking in pitch dark which was night. Although our cooking food were simple just like instant noodles, we hurriedly ate them as it was so delicious. We felt full after we ate yet we continued to cook outdoor cooking and ate more foods. = ="

While we ate our foods, I could not believe in my very own eyes. Actually, It was my first time to see this in my entire life. Do you know what? It was actually stars. I knew that it was common among Singaporean. However, it was so many stars in starry night sky that I never seen in my life unlike in Singapore which is so little stars. So I admired seeing the stars many times and pondered myself how powerful Allah is.

If you don't believe me, you can ask my COR'09 members or even my Indonesian friends. I am really sorry that I could not take picture of it as it was too dark. = =" That's why I am planning to buy DSLR to get best shot for COR'10. ;)

After that, we went back to tents to get enough sleep. *zZzZz* Before I went to sleep, I admired the stars in starry night sky for few times. =)

"Grand senior, senior and junior of COR!!!"

Group "D...D...D...D...DELICIOUS" xD

Lovely scenery view taken by ME =)

heyy... am i pretty with "complicated goggle"?

Practising of how to breathe properly only through mouth = ="

Experience of Indonesia's life of sampan =)

Can you spot me? *devilish grin*

Outdoor cooking in pitch dark

Yummy!! *drooling* =)~~

This photo from other website. It just look like what I have seen. Beautiful stars, isn't it?

I feel so luckily that I had grabbed this golden opportunity as I am able to see beautiful view and stars. I think I should stop writing any further. Don't forget to stay tunned for Day Two. Till then Enjoys! =)

I JUST CAME BACK FROM INDONESIA SAFE AND SOUND.
Alhamdulillah (All praise is to Allah)

I will update my blog when I have time but it's better to update as soon as possible regarding what I did while I was off to Indonesia including photos. No worries. =) It is really damn tiring but fun. I really missed Indonesia so badly as it has nature scenery that Singapore does not have. Erm.. I may live in Indonesia one day but I am not sure. =/ Got to go to get enough rest and got rush to complete all 3 sets of elementary mathematics exam papers before 17 June 2009. Till then. Enjoys! =)

Indonesia, INDONESIA! HERE I COME!! XD

ATTENTION!

I WILL NOT BE IN SINGAPORE FROM 13 JUNE TO 16 JUNE AS I WILL BE AWAY TO INDONESIA TOMORROW.

While I am away to Indonesia, I hope that I can do some "reflection and repair" such as attitude towards my studying and other things in a quiet and calm place so that I can mentally prepare to face the challenges after I come back from Indonesia. =)

Whenever I am in Singapore, I felt that I have no time to do some reflection due to tight and hectic schedule. x( I am sure you have the same experiences as me. Sigh...

" To Sec 5N1, while I'm away to Indonesia, I will think of way to improve our attitude towards our studying and push all of you to be successful and get better results than what our teachers' expectation of us. We have to try our best, no matter what. Alright? =) Remember that you have already promised yourself where you want to go after 'O' Level such as polytechnic and junior college so please stick with your goals. Ok? Let's work together as one to get better results! =) "

After I come back from Indonesia, I will upload all the photos and journal what I am doing at there during four days. I shall not write any further. Don't forget to stay tuned. Enjoys! =)

I Learn To Be Strong

Words of wisdom come to my ears,
Telling me what I know in my heart,
But never wanted to hear.

With the truth finally said
and out in the open for me to plainly see,
I wonder why I can love so deeply
but never had that love returned back to me.

I confessed the feelings
that I held inside for so long,
But with his soft- hearted rejection,
I realize I have to be strong.

With tears that want to flow
from my eyes,
I feel that my heart,
along with my composure, slowly dies.

While this dramatic side is showing through
with my ability to question and reason,
I think I may have found
something in me that I can believe in.

Love hurts . . .
That's what they all say,
But I will love again
when all this pain and sorrow goes away.

So I sit and think of all the things
this situation has cost,
And I realize that nothing
very important has been lost.

Instead, a learning experience
has come from all this.
I've learned that hardly anything
is more important than my happiness.

Strong and Frangible
